Mr. Andrew Thomson is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in Hip and Knee arthroplasty and sports knee surgery.
Mr. Thomson graduated from Monash University in 1995 and completed his specialist training in Orthopaedics in 2006. He completed his post-fellowship training at The Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard University) in Boston specializing in Total Knee Arthroplasty, and at The Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter specializing in Total Hip Arthroplasty.
He works in both the public and private hospital systems and is a VMO at University Hospital Geelong, St. John of God Hospital and Epworth Hospital Geelong. He has a general interest in all adult orthopaedic conditions involving the lower limb and with a special interest in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and Sports Knee Surgery. He performs computer navigated Total Knee Replacement surgery and is involved in the development of new technologies including Robotic Surgery for joint replacement.
He consults and operates at both SJOG Specialist Centre and Epworth Hospital.
